Day 42 - HOME SWEET HOME

last day in Wuhan.

I woke up at around 8am, but I went back to sleep as my luggages were already packed last night. And so, I missed the weighing part and I only know that my luggages were 34kg from others. Hahas, main reason for my luggages over weight is that I bought too much stuffs, oops !

After the packing, we sat down and took a group photo.

My dormitory mates for 6 weeks, I am definitely going to miss them. I am going to miss the days that we played counterstrike together, the days we studied APPG together, the days we played basketball together, the days we went to the gym together and definitely the days that we joked around.

And the days we "taupok" each other!

Around 11 am, we bid our dormitory goodbye as we moved our luggages to the bus. Due to late nights, many were sleeping.

When we reached Wuhan's airport, we still got an hour or so before our flight to Guang Zhou, so we walked around in the airport. The place was pretty boring as the prices is quite expensive here.

We wanted to have lunch at the airport, but due the prices, we hesitated much. Until Mr Chua insisted on treating, then we went into the food court for fried rice. Thanks Mr Chua, for taking good care of us.

After the meal, we went to check in and waited for the flight at around 3pm. During the waiting, some mixed feelings were running through my mind, "I am going to miss Wuhan badly but I am going to miss my family and friends in Singapore."

After a while, that thought gradually disappeared as we boarded the flight to Guang Zhou.

After the one hour flight, we reached Guang Zhou. We had to rush to check in as there isn't much time left until the next flight back home.

Finally, we board the flight to Singapore, so excited about it. While on the flight, I slept throughout the journey except for the dinner part. I ate seafood set, consider not bad as compared to the meal that I ate in the flight from Singapore to Guang Zhou.

20 minutes before the landing of the plane, everyone were getting anxious. When we landed in Singapore, everyone cheered and most of us took out our handphone to inform our families and friends that we had landed.

After that, we went our own ways. Shao Ming helped me to buy heineken beers as I was still underage, :(. The beers were actually meant for my dad.

We went to collect our luggages afterwards, and we went our separate ways. I went out to meet my parents and my auntie, I really miss them.

First thing when I reached Singapore, the weather here is really HOT! even it is night time, my goodness.

After I reached home, I lied down on my bed immediately, hahas.

Day 34 - Monday

I was in my wonderland dreaming until I woke up at 12 noon because of the CS noise caused by the others. But still, I ended up playing too after I woke up. hahas

Nothing much happened, I was slacking during the whole afternoon. I was watching The Mummy - Tomb of The Dragon Emperor. Conclusion - The storyline was okay okay, but the female actress acting as "Lin" looked really beautiful. hahas

We went jogging during evening. For some reasons, I did not really have the mood to run, so I was almost walking during the whole journey.

We ran around the campus and at the same time, we also get to sight see as we were running along the lake that was located near our school.

After our jogging, we went to dormitory to bathe. After everyone had finished bathing, we went out for dinner at the cheap fast food restaurant. We ordered chicken burgers. hahas

After that, we went to the nearby provision shop to get some drinks and tidbits. That pretty much ended my day.

8 more days back home ! I miss my mother's cookings, especially steamed chicken wings, fried rice with hotdog and egg, sweet and sour pork and many more.

I also miss my father's nagging, erm, sound quite weird but it's true. Everytime he started to nag, I did not really bother much but after a while, his words usually sounded quite true. Same goes for my aunt too. (For your information, my aunt dotes on me the most, but I just do not know how to appreciate it.)

Lastly, I also miss my sister. I missed the days where I could disturb her, and we always play pillow fights at times. LOL

Day 33 - Sunday

finally i got to sleep until 3pm in the afternoon, and since how long I finally had such a long sleep? o.0 zzz

After I woke up, benson and others wanted to go canteen 3 for lunch so I tagged along. I wanted to eat rice with fried duck meat but too bad, they did not have that so I ordered the fried chicken rice instead. I can't finished the rice and I wonder how the locals are able to finish this everyday.
But still, I ordered one packet of fried chicken as side dish before leaving the canteen.

After that we went to the mini mart to buy stuffs, where I bought plain water, herbal tea and one chocolate bar. After that we went back to recreational club which we wanted to go to the gym but too bad, it wasn't opened on Sunday.

So we chilled at dormitory until 7pm plus and we went out for dinner at the roadside stalls outside our campus. Just before we went out, the outfit that jayden wore was very hilarious.

When we reached the stalls, I ordered fried noodle with egg and ham while marc and wenhao ordered fried noodle with egg and mushroom and fried rice with egg and sausage. The noodle tasted not bad ,full of ham and fried egg but too bad, it was too oily. We went over to a fast food restaurant which jayden and wenhao ordered a burger each.

After we went back to dormitory, Jit Siong suddenly knocked on the door to inform us to go up to eat cake. When we went up, we thought it was Jit Siong's birthday or Ernest's birthday but nope, it was neither of them, it was Ernest's mum birthday, quite a filial son :D. We also took individual photos with the cake and assumed that we were the birthday boy or girl, it was quite fun though. After a while, Yong Xin and I brought down the cake for others to eat.

After we finished the cake, marc, arvind, nicholas and me went out for jogging. I wasn't used to the air as it was very dry and it was my first time jogging around the campus in the night. But still, there is always next time, so we would be jogging tomorrow again.

Day 26 - Sunday

Finally we could wake up late as Sunday is a free and easy day for us. But thanks to diyana, all the shouting, screaming and tickling woke me up from my dreamland, "THANKS UH!". She wanted us to accompany her to Lu Xiang Guang Zhang because she wanted to buy her JanSport backpack.

After she bought her bag, we went to the same japanese restaurant for our lunch. This time, I ate char siew ramen. The meat tasted superb; tender and juicy, and the ramen was not too bad either. But sadly, the soup was totally bland. -.-"

But thanks to her, I got to shop around and bought the CoolMax backpack, 5 t-shirts and some accessories.

89 yuan, but I liked the design :D

We returned to dormitory at around 4pm and after a while we had to go for the social interaction event. This time, we would be having barbecue. The event was not that fun, because most of my friends were just sitting around and chatting among each other. And only a few of us decided to barbecue. The pork sticks and the mutton ones tasted just nice. :D

We left the event at around 7pm plus. We went to the restaurant which was just opposite of the barbecue event to have our dinner. We ate fish head soup with fishball, vegetables with egg and fried shrimp. Overall, the meal was not bad.

Day 25 - Saturday

This morning, it was raining heavily and even worse was that the bus driver was late, which made us wait in the heavy rain for like HALF AN HOUR ? The weather was so cold that we were shivering while waiting.

After we boarded the bus, we set off to Wuhan Beach Park first. The bus trip was quite fast, as we took around an hour to reach the park. When we reached the place, it was still raining heavily. As the weather was very harsh, so the tour guide told us to go the Jiang Han Bu Xing Jie first.

We had to walk around 200 metres in the rain to reach the walking street. Along the way, we went into a fast food to have our breakfast first. I ordered chicken rice, but the taste was very different from Singapore's. The taste of ginger in the rice was very strong, so I didn't finish the rice, but I finished the chicken as the chicken was not bad. After that, we shopped along the street and most of the shops were like Adidas, Nike, Kappa and etc. Along the way, we went into Starbucks to chill.

After that, we went into a shopping mall, which my friends bought play boy jackets. We spent more than a certain amount, so we got a free blue gem and a lucky draw coupon.

After that, we went back to the park to meet the others. Due to the weather, we could not go anywhere but dormitory. But along the way back to school, we stopped along the way to shop around. We went into a building where there were alot of stuffs like shoes, clothes and bags. We were on shopping spree as I bought one wallet, a pair of shoes, shoe lace and earring.

for your information, BABI in malay is also known as pig.. my black vans shoes with black shoe laces.. :D (I bought the shoes for 50 yuan ONLY!)

After that, we left the building and went for dinner at roadside stalls.

Overall the food I tasted was not bad, like chicken rice (nuo mi fan), grilled scallops and pork dumpling. After that, we cabbed back to dormitory for 50 yuan, imagine how far the place was.

Day 24 - Friday

We woke up in 10am to set off for industrial visit, and this time we are going to Yangtze Optical Fibre and Cable Company Limited. We took around an hour bus trip to the factory. When we reached the factory, we began to look around at the display at the main hall.

the company is currently number 1 optic fibre company in China.
After a while, a company representative came forward to explain more facts about the company. He also explained about what products the company was producing and the process of the manufacturing. He also gave us a tour around the factory and showed us short video clips of how the company produced their products.

he could speak english somehow..
the information about the process.. while we were listening to what he was explaining but I didn't get what he was saying. LOL :D

After the trip to the factory, we went back to campus where we went to the restaurant outside the campus for lunch. We ordered two big bowl of rice, one plate of tofu (tie pan tou fu), one big plate of vegetables (xiao bai cai), and two meats (gong bao ji ding and xiao pan ji). We were too hungry, that's why there wasn't pictures of the food. SORRY :D.

After the meal, we went back to dormitory to prepare for coming APPG theory test at 4pm. After the test, we went back to dormitory to discuss what to eat for dinner, I hoped it would be not KFC again LOL. Luckily we went back to the same restaurant for dinner, which we ordered same vegetables, one tofu (fried tofu) again, one sliced fish meat and the xiao pan ji that we ordered in the morning.

After that, we went to the nearby supermarket to buy necessities. While we were shopping around, we saw three big water tanks where they sold the fishes. However, some fishes were already dead, so why did they still keep the fishes in the tanks? Maybe they still think that someone will buy, or they simply don't care -.-". No matter what, I would never buy the fishes in the supermarket.

Day 23 - Thursday

Day went on as usual, IS in the morning, fried egg rice for lunch (it wasn't delicious at all please! LOL), then APPG in the afternoon. I was slacking all the way in APPG lesson, playing dynasty warrior somemore. -.-" There will be a theory test tomorrow, I sincerely pray that I can pass. :D

After lesson, we went to KFC for dinner, I know, SAME OLD PLACE AGAIN. I think only KFC have the food that we like. :D

I bought it in canteen 1 few weeks back. The noodle looked very simple, noodle with added sauce and sliced long bean , but yet it had an unique taste. Till now, I still remember the taste clearly. WUHAN's must try food :D

Day 22 - Wednesday

The day went by as usual; APPG in the morning, went for lunch at KFC (ate a burger meal, two sets of grilled wing and one set of fried wing which cost me around 50 yuan in total. -.-") then APPG in the afternoon.

After the afternoon lesson, we went to Lu Xiang Guang Zhang as kang liang and arvind wanted to withdraw cash. We went to many ATM machines, but none of it had provide the exchange rates information. So in the end, we shopped around at Lu Xiang Guang Zhang. I bought one pouch for my sister, in case she complained I never buy anything for her when I was in China. :D

I bought the pouch for 20 yuan, it was a leather pouch but I felt that it was a little too expensive.

After that, we went for dinner at japanese restaurant in the plaza. We ordered around 18 plates of sushi, one fried rice and 3 sake. I was curious about sake, so I decided to order and try it. The alcohol percentage was not as high as I expected but the taste was not that good too. I tried only 3 cups of it.

After the meal, we went to the arcade and played one game, which was about pressing the button at the right time to allow the ball to drop in the score that we want. The first time, I played alone and got around 400 tickets (the number of the tickets was equal to the score that I got).

After that when everyone joined in, we played until we had 1000 plus tickets. But an unpleasant experience happened, so we did not managed to exchange the tickets for any stuff :(. After that, we went back to dormitory.

Day 21 - Tuesday

Went for APPG lesson at around 10 am because of the lab test. The test was about room booking. I think I took around 1 hour to complete the test, but sadly, I think I did not set one of the properties correctly.

After that, we went out of the campus for lunch. Please don't ask the name because I know that it is just a normal restaurant :D. We ordered fried tofu, vegetables, xiao pan ji (small plate chicken? LOL) and pork with mushroom. We made a grave mistake by ordering pork with mushroom as arvind and diyana were present and they cannot eat pork. We had to use spoon to take the potato and meat.

Aftermath, we went back for our afternoon APPG lesson. After the lesson, we went to Hu Quan Ye Shi again to shop. This time, I did not buy many things, only slippers and a belt. The belt cost only 10 yuan and the slippers 12 yuan.

The whole trip was not as fun as last trip that we went. After that, we took away dinner and rushed back to campus at around 8pm as we got a meeting with Mr Chua at 9.30pm sharp.

The meeting was pretty much about social interaction. By the way, we will be having BBQ this Sunday at a place nearby to our school. Seriously, I hope that this time the interaction will be fun, unlike the last one.

Day 20 - Monday

Finally, we got the chance to wake later than ever as lesson started at 10am. But the moment we stepped out of the dormitory, the weather was very cold and it was raining heavily, but luckily, I wore my windbreaker. We ran all the way to our class because of the heavy rain. When we reached our class, we were totally drenched.

We slacked during the first lesson of APPG. After that, we went to canteen 3 for lunch. Nicholas and I ate mixed rice, which we ordered fried sausages and steam egg. The steam egg was really nice, finally got one decent food in the canteen. Then Arvind and Nicholas went to buy drinks for us, a china guy just came and sit down. Maybe I was not used to their culture, so I felt irritated. After a while, we went off and headed back to dormitory to rest. During the afternoon APPG lesson, we had our trial test. The trial test was quite difficult, as there were alot of variables and we had to declare string too. But in the end, I managed to understand the program.

After lesson, we went to KFC for meal, ordered chicken burger and two sets of grilled chicken wings. The grilled chicken wings were simply the best, which was not available in Singapore, what a pity. After the meal, we went to the supermarket, which we bought alot of stuffs like 36 eggs, 10 packets of noodles, few snacks and one carton of mineral water. After that, we went back dormitory and rested for the day.

Day 19 - Wudang Mountain ~ 武当山

We checked out of the hotel at 6.30am. We went to the same restaurant for our last meal and then we went to Wudang Mountain to take the cable car up to the mountain peak. The other group climbed up the mountain instead of taking the cable car. I also wanted to climb up the mountain, but sadly, I had to follow the majority’s decision. We queued for over an hour plus before we could take the cable car. From the cable car, we could almost see the overview of the mountains.

Upon reaching the top, we went up to the peak and explore around.

After that, we took the cable car down and went for lunch. After lunch, we took the bus back to campus which we reached around 6 hours.

day 18 - Wudang Mountain ~ 武当山

We set off to Wudang Mountain at 7am in the morning. The journey to Wudang Mountain took around 6 hours. I slept all the way on the bus until the bus stopped for a 15 minutes toilet break at around 10am plus. We reached Wudang Mountain at around 1pm which we had our lunch at the restaurant. The food was not bad, but not as good as Singapore’s. I MISS NGEE ANN POLY CANTEEN 2 SALMON TERIYAKI DON. :(

After the meal, we went onboard the tour bus to “tai zi po” (prince temple?). There were road lanes within the mountain for the cars and buses. There were many sharp turns which made me think of Initial D.

After the trip to the tai zi po, we went further to the “zi xiao gong”. When we further explored into the temple, we saw a group of students practicing wushu. The group comprises from young kids like 6 years old to young teenagers like my age. There was also girls in the group too :D. While watching their training, I found out that their training was very strict. Once you did one step wrong, the instructor would yell at you. One of the punishments I saw was that a group of them had to jump down and up the steps. -.-“ After that, we went off to our next destination, “nan yan gong”.

After that, we went back to the same restaurant for dinner. After our meal, we went to the hotel that we booked to check in. Our room was damn comfortable, and a wide varieties of TV channel (why we lived in dormitory but not hotel like this ? D: ) After a while, we went out for a walk along the streets. Nothing much from the streets as it was already late at night. When we were walking around, we were held back by some aunties, which turned out to be prostitutes. First time experiencing this kind of things, so we ran off immediately. Phew ~

Day 17 - Friday

Woke up early in the morning to check my result and surprisingly, I got 2.9 for my GPA. I did not expect myself to do so badly for this semester, somemore was 2 C's and only 1 A for my core modules. This also showed that I got to work harder next semester in order to get better result.

But still, I had to go for APPG lesson in the morning as usual. The lesson was quite slack, as I got nothing much to do except to think of the title of the mini project. After the lesson, we went to canteen 3 to buy food. We bought herbal soup with rice and went back dormitory to eat. The food was not too bad. After that, we went to the afternoon lesson.

After we were dismissed, we went to Hu Quan Ye Shi (Hu Quan Night Market). At first, we went through some road stalls which sold rabbit meat and other meat. After that, we saw quite alot of shops that sold clothes and accessories. I bought two t-shirts, one adidas shorts, one cap and one small sling bag.

hahas, 20 yuan only LOL about SG$4 like that :D

While exploring for more stuffs, Nicholas and I bought mutton kebab. It was spicy but delicious. For your information, never go out with arvind to eat, he never appreciate good food. I also bought one bag for myself and several key chains for my friends. We would be definitely going back someday to get more stuffs. After that, we cabbed back and rest for the day.

Day 16 - Thursday

Woke up early in the morning and went for the morning APPG lesson. The lesson was about lab 4 which I had done until practice 2. After the morning lesson, we went for lunch. After then, we went for the afternoon APPG lesson.

After we were dismissed, we went to play basketball at the nearby basketball court. We were just shooting randomly at first, until the rest came then we played 4 v 4 match. Marc and Arvind were the most hilarious among us when playing basketball. After that, we went back to the dormitory to bathe and went out for dinner. We got no idea of where to eat, so we went to KFC.

While on the way back to the dormitory, we were talking about our result for tomorrow. All of us were very worried about semester 2 results as the modules were just too difficult. After we went back to the dormitory, I was randomly surfing the net and soon after, I went to sleep. That is how my day end, :D.

Day 15 - Wednesday

We went for IS lesson at 8am which was about the business etiquette. I slept during the first hour of the lesson as I slept at 3am last night. Throughout the presentation, I was not paying much attention as I felt that it was very long winded. The morning lesson last for 3 and a half hours until we had our lunch break.

We went back to the dormitory as we were not that hungry. We went for our afternoon IS module at 2pm as we had to complete the summary of the morning presentation. We did not manage to finish the summary on time, so we had to go back dormitory to complete it.

Mr Chua then told us to go to the electronics mall to take a look there. We took 901 to the mall and the trip took around 45 minutes or so. Once we reach there, we went into the mall to take a look at their product, almost all the products were local brand and cheaper too. I did not buy anything as I did not quite like the products over there. After a while, Yong Xin and Khoon Fong bought us a few chicken buns. Despite the fact that the bun was too oily, the buns were quite tasty. So we went back to the place where they bought the buns and bought a few more.

After then, we went to the nearby fast food restaurant for our dinner. We ordered the spring chicken meal and an extra coke which was like 16 yuan. The meal was quite different from what we got in Singapore. We were provided with plastic gloves and black pepper sauce and we had no utensils for the meal. After the meal, we went to the nearby shopping mall to shop around, which I bought a dragonball figurine for my cousin. After a while, we cabbed back to the dormitory.

day 14 - Tuesday

We had to assemble at the administration building at 7.15am and surprisingly, we reached there on time, maybe it was because we woke up earlier than usual.

First stop, we had to go to the Wuhan University to meet the other students of the other course. After that, then we went to the steel factory. The whole journey took around an hour or so. The area that we went to was quite similar to the Jurong Industrial Area, but to the only difference was that they had railway tracks at some of the places. The railway track was to transport heavy metal or minerals.

After a while, we reached the steel factory, it was rather big and we had to wear our helmet before entering the premises. It was a simple tour as we walked along the side while observing how hot metal were melted and shaped into cylinder shapes. While walking along the side, we felt very hot and the noise produced was also very ear-piercing. The tour took around 45 minutes and we left the factory after that.

We had 5 hours left before we went for lesson at 3pm, so Mr Chua suggested that we go to Lu Xiang Guang Chang for our lunch. We took around one and a half hour to reach the place as the bus driver went the wrong way. He decided to take a shortcut during the journey and who knows, it lead to nowhere. Even worse was that the roads was bumpy throughout the journey.

After we reached the place, we went to pizza hut for lunch. The price was quite similar to Singapore. My friends and I ordered spaghetti with smoked salmon while others had grilled chicken rice and seafood spaghetti. I did not take any photo of it as I was too hungry.

After our lunch, we took 901 back to our campus. The weather in Wuhan is getting hotter than ever, I began to sweat during the afternoon these days. We wore t-shirts and shorts to lesson in the afternoon, cooling but awkward as well. Imagine while on the way to our class, people everywhere keep staring at you, it will be very awkward. APPG lesson was boring, Mr Ma took over for lesson and taught us stuffs about chapter 3. After that, we went back dormitory and complete our lab 3. Dinner was boring, had KFC again. So that is how I end my day.

day 13 - Monday

We went for APPG lesson in the morning as usual. Lesson ended at 12 noon so we went out for lunch. We had no idea what to eat, so we decided to go KFC for lunch. I ordered Zinger meal, one piece chicken and a grilled chicken wing. The grilled chicken wing was tasty though, despite of the fact that it was oily.

After lunch, we went to the nearby supermarket to get some snacks. I bought a packet of sweets and two packets of seaweed. Seriously, the seaweed just tasted damn nice. After that, we went for the afternoon APPG lesson. Mr Ma checked our lab 2 and we were dismissed early.

At around 6pm, we had to assemble at the recreational club level 3 singing hall for social interaction with the local students from the university. After we went in, we were then asked to choose a card from the deck that would decided which table we were distributed to. I got J, so I was in the same group as Siew Bo and three other girls. I remembered that one of the girls' names was called Chen Rong. Clearly they were older than us as they looked very mature. After that, the event started off with a song sang by one of their students. Next was a performance staged by our classmates, Sebastian's group.

After that, there was a dance performance by the local student and next would be the game. They played musical chair, and I was one of people playing. Clearly I am not the kind who would volunteer, so I was sabotaged by the two girls in my table. The forfeit was to do a cartoon dance, which was very lame. So I did our best to avoid the forfeit, and luckily, I managed to avoid it in two turns. The host suddenly suggested that we would switch players, so I sabotaged Nicholas. And who knows, once he got onto the game, he lost. So he had to do the forfeit which was hilarious. Jeremy and a local female student persevered to the end and became the last two survivor. Both of them had to do the forfeit together. After the game, it was Shu Gen and his group's turn. They sang the song "安静" by Jay Chou. Their vocals were indeed the best as many applauded and cheered for them. Aftermath, the lecturer of the university, Mr Jiang gave a welcome speech, after the speech, he invited Mr Chua and sang "朋友" by 周華健. The event ended with their vocals. We went back to dormitory after that. The interaction was meaningful and I hoped that there would be a next event too.

Day 12 - Sunday

Did not have a good sleep yesterday because have to share bed with my room mate KangLiang. When i woke up, my back start to ache and i had leg cramp. Then we have breakfast at the same place as yesterday. After breakfast, we gave our room keys to the tour guide and checked out from our room. Next destination is Yichang the journey takes about 4 hours plus. We went to a supermarket to see if there is any thing to buy. After walking around i finally bought a box of tea leaves and some tibits. Furthermore, the toilet there is also very dirty the water that come out from the tap is yellow in colour. Then i still use the water to rinse my mouth cause i did not notice until my friend told me about it. Once again we boarded the bus and after many many hours we finally reached WUST. Travelling in wuhan is definitely a very diffcult task to do. To get from one place to another it usually takes a few hours.I still think that singapore is better. No matter where u go you will never get lost because it is just too small. As it way too boring, we decided to play some sports. Just nice, khoon fong bought a volley so we decided to go to the court near our dorm to play volley ball. At first i did not know the proper way to play the game. However, under the guidance of marc and benson i slowly get use to the game. Benson our coach of the day taught us some of the skills to play volley ball. As there is still time, we proceeded to play netball. It is the first time i ran since i come china. The air is very dry here therefore very hard to breathe. Nonetheless, i still enjoyed it. At about 7 plus we went for our dinner before having our meeting at Mr ma place. After meeting, sleeping time.

Day 11 - Saturday

The tour guide told us yesterday night that there will be music played through the PA system to wake us up however; we could not hear anything in the morning. Later we found out that only the people on the 4th floor can hear the sound. If not for the tour guide whom knocked on my room door I and my roommate kangliang will still be sleeping. The temperature in the room is extremely cold as the heater in my room is not working. There are a lot of people outside my room as my room is located just beside the place where we have our meal. I wanted to bath but the water is way too cold so I decided to skip it. After I washed up, I went to have breakfast. The breakfast is very normal. The dishes are also not very nice. The porridge is bland plus the boiled egg is also very cold. The only dish that is nice is the peanuts. As there is still time, we went back to our room to slack and rest for a while before we take another boat to Shen Nong which takes about one hour plus. The scenery there is very nice and the air is very fresh. The mountains are also very high and the water in the river is also crystal clear. We can see what is at the bottom of the river. To get a better view of Shen Nong Jiang, we sit a small wooden boat. The people who rowed the boat are all very strong. They are all well build. Last time the people who rolled the boat do not wear any clothes thus many of them injured themselves because the boat is too heavy to pull. Now their attire is short pants and shirt and they wear grass shoe. There is a part of the river which is very narrow. The people have to get down the boat. Before they get down, they must attach a rope to the boat and pull the boat to direct us through the narrow course. The people who lived here lead a very carefree. They must have trained about for a very long time in order to pull a boat with a lot of people which weigh about 500kg. After the tour, we went back to our room and slept for a while before we went for our lunch. Almost all the dishes are spicy and the fish is full of bone. At about 7 plus, we went to the temple. In order to go up to the temple, we need to climb all a lot stairs. Once we reached there, the people there offer us joss stick to pray. I donated 10 yuan to the temple. The flight of steps is like never ending I climbed until my legs become very tired and my leg start to ache. Once we reached the top, we listen to the story about the three kingdoms and the tour guide tells us about the history of the three kingdoms. As the history part is too boring me Diyana, kangliang and arvind went around taking pictures. We had dinner quite late. After that we went back to our room to sleep.

Day 10 - Friday

oday is the day that we will be departing for a 3 day 2 night cruise to see the “Three Gorges” located at Yichang Hubei province of China. Because of counter strike all my dorm people could not wake up. When I woke up it is already about time to go for meeting. I took a quick bath and headed to the meeting point. The bus trip is very long from Wuhan to Yichang, it takes about 4 hours plus another one hour journey to the 3 gorges. During the 4 hour journey, a lot of us fall asleep. We had our lunch at a 4 stars restaurant at Yansha Dajiudian. The food there can be considered quite good compare to the food in WUST university canteen. The students from other courses also join us for lunch. After eating, we went back to the bus and headed for the 3 gorges. The scenery there was very beautiful. The tour guide explains to us when the dam was build and the size of it. It is one of the biggest dams in china and it is the pride of many china people. Building this definitely cost a bomb. We took many pictures there plus group photos and went back to the same restaurant to have our dinner. Their dishes for lunch and dinner all looked the same. We are like eating the same food all over again. We had a very rushing dinner as time is running short for us. We are already late for the cruise. Once we boarded the cruise, we were given the keys to our room. The room is very small and my head almost touch the ceiling. After putting down our belongings, we went to the deck of the ship if is at the 4th floor of the ship to assemble to see the boat slowly rising up the dam. We then went back to our room to play cards until 2 plus and went to sleep.

Day 9 - Thursday

We went for APPG lesson at 9pm, which we started on lab 2. We had to complete the user interface of the program. The user interface was easy and so I went ahead to do the program too. After that, we went back to our dormitory as we were not hungry, only arvind went ahead to cook noodles to eat. Aftermath, we went back class for lesson and we were dismissed at around 3pm. Mr Ma dismissed us early because we had to pack our bag for the three days two nights trip to the Three Gorges.

During the evening, Mr Chua organized a basketball match between Wuhan University and our school. Cheers went loud as we scored each shot. The final score was 54 – 43. After that, we went to the cake shop to buy some bread and cakes for tomorrow’s trip as we heard that the bus journey would take around 4 hours.

After we bought the food, the girls went back first as they were not hungry, Marc and Benson also had to go back because they had to go for gym. So we went for dinner at KFC without them. After the dinner, we received a message from Mr Chua that we had a briefing at 9.30pm and we were late. We quickly ate our remaining food and walked back as quickly as we could, we could not run because the air was too dry. But during the way up to Mr Chua’s dormitory, luckily we saw him and he told us the details on tomorrow’s trip.

Then I went back to the dormitory and started to pack my bag, bought one set of clothes and the necessities. I was not very sure whether one set of clothes would last for three days two nights. I hope that tomorrow will be a fun day.

Day 8 - Wednesday

We went for IS lesson in the morning. Groups including us had to present our projects in an orderly manner. The other groups did fairly well; the only problem was that some of their slides were too lengthy. We presented our project too, but to our disappointment, Mr Chua was not pleased with our presentation as we read from the slides. He asked us to present our presentation again.

We went back to the dormitory to prepare our presentation once again. We wrote down the main points and tried to remember the points by heart. We also took away KFC for lunch as we had little time for lunch. After we went back for lesson, Mr Chua went on with the remaining groups’ presentations and the lesson ended soon. But we were glad that we did not have to present again.

We had no choice but to go to KFC again for dinner, as the food in the restaurants outside the campus was not delicious at all, and even worse, the food was unhealthy too. Everyone either ordered food or ice-cream for dinner. Then we went back to our hostel. I showered and sleep aftermath. The day was full of surprises which kind of made me speechless.

Day 7 - Tuesday

Woke up in the morning and prepared for lesson APPG. First lesson was quite confused of what to do. Lab, theory and even tutorial were killing me at first; maybe it was because that I did not understand the module in the first place. But as the lesson passed by, I began to understand the module and managed to complete lab 1 by myself.

After that we went for lunch at canteen 1, which we had dried noodles and the others had egg ramen. It tasted like peanut noodle, and at first I thought that they added in green chilli, but I was wrong, it was sliced long bean. We did not go back to the dormitory and we went to class. The class ended at around 5pm. Then we walked around outside the campus which Khoon Fong bought volleyball. After that we went for dinner at KFC and we went back to the hostel after that. That was how the day ended as it just felt like yesterday.

day 6 - Monday

In the morning, we went to IS lesson at the foreign language building. The lesson was conducted by Miss Anna Xie. The lesson was about history and culture of Wuhan and Hubei. The presentation took about two hours, which she elaborated the presentation.

We went for a lunch break after that, which we went back to hostel to rest. The afternoon lesson was about writing a summary of morning presentation which consisted of 70 over slides, thus it took us around two hours to finish the summary. After the lesson, we went back to the hostel to rest for awhile.

Aftermath, we went out of the campus to have our dinner. I ordered duck drumstick and duck wing. Though it tasted cold and spicy, but overall it tasted good. After that we went to the supermarket to get some necessities and we went back to hostel. Overall, the day felt just like another day.

day 5 - Sunday

Woke up in the noon as today was Sunday, which was a free day. We started planning how to spend our rest of day. In the end, we decided to go to Lu Xiang Plaza again to take our brunch (breakfast and lunch).

While waiting for the bus, the uncle nearby decided to offer us a trip to the Plaza in his van. It only cost us $4 per person to board his van. The place was crowded when we reached as it was San Ba Fu Nu Jie. We ate Mac for brunch, and while we were eating, we were watching bunch of children dancing around at the stage with random music. I felt that they were hyperactive, and definitely cute. After finishing eating, we shopped around and the girls decided to get some stuffs like caps and watch. We got bored while shopping, so we decided to play pool. Surprisingly, even in the pool area, smoking was allowed too, thus the smell of the place was very irritating.

After playing pool, we decided to go to the fishball restaurant which is just opposite of our campus. The tour guide recommended us the place but the food there really tasted weird. The fishball tasted like jelly and the meat was really spicy. Aftermath, we went back to our hostel and rest for the day.

day 4 - WARNING ( PICTURES OVERLOADING! )

Saturday was a day that we did not have to study and we got to tour around in Wuhan. We got to meet the group at 7.50am at the main gate of the University. After we boarded the bus, there was a female tour guide who was onboard with us during the journey to explain the surrounding buildings and the lifestyle of the locals.

First stop was Dong Hu, a historical site which was surrounded with beautiful sceneries. We boarded a tram which was able to allow 9 of us onboard. We toured around the place where we got to see many statues, small buildings and temples. We also took alot of photos during the trip. The lake in Dong Hu was a “must go” place because it was a beautiful sight. But while we were on the tram, I felt very cold on the face because I sat on the side of the tram. The journey around the place took only an hour or so. It felt like a fast journey but it was fun though.

Next stop was to the Hubei Provincial museum which was located near to Dong Hu. The museum was quite big as I saw a few large exhibition halls. There were alot of national treasures in the museum, thus we had to declare our personal belongings when we went into the museum. At first, the treasures were interesting, such as the scene of olden days where the locals worked in the gold mine. But after a while, we felt bored and hungry, so we decided to find a place to settle down and eat. I ate a burger and sausage to ease my hunger, aftermath we settled down nearby to chit-chat.

We left the place at around noon for lunch at an eatery street. But as I just consumed a burger and sausage, so we went to the meeting place early and sat down to chill. We met up with the rest at around 1pm plus and went up to the Yellow Crane Tower. We saw alot of poems that were composed by famous poets such as Li Bai along the way up the tower. When we reached the tower, we began to climb up the stairs towards the highest floor of the tower. When we reached the top, we could almost see everything. We did not waste our time climbing up the stairs because it was a very beautiful sight when you were able to view almost everything from the top. After a while, we began to head back slowly to the meeting place.

We headed back to the hostel. Later at night, we went outside for dinner just outside our campus. First time dining in a restaurant, we were expecting some good standard food, but to our disappointment, the dishes were either too oily or too spicy. We ordered two veggie and two meats, but the only dish that we liked was the vegetables. Back to our campus, we were too tired to do anything else, so we took a shower and went to sleep. Overall, the day was fun, and we got to learn historical facts of China.

day 3 - friday

Woke up in the morning, washed up and we skipped our breakfast because it was abit of a rush, partly was because we woke up late.

We went for lecture at foreign language building. The lecture was about our history of Singapore and first two groups went first to present their presentations which were quite long winded. Initially we were bored, so we started to surf net using the computers in the classroom. During the lessons, we got a break time, we went to canteen 1 for lunch. Then we went to the nearby shops to get some tibits and drinks.

After our lessons, we chilled in the hostel until evening when my friends went to the nearby fast food restaurant KFC to eat while I rested at the hostel. At around 9pm plus, I went for a shower and went to sleep. Overall, I just felt that it was like just a normal school day in Singapore.

day 2 - Thursday

Woke up in the morning, we started to wash up individually, and gathered in Canteen 2. We ate buns and eggs for breakfast. After that, we went for class for our first lesson which only last for like 1 hour plus. After that we went to explore around the campus.

Then Mr Ma and Mr Chua decided to take us to Lu Xiang Plaza, which is known for the longest street. We took a bus 901 to the plaza, which took us half an hour and cost 2 bucks per trip for an air-con bus. Upon reaching, we shopped around for daily stuffs and ate Mac for lunch, one funny thing that I noticed was that the fast food restaurant only have tomato sauce but no chilli sauce. The shopping mall there was quite boring because not all of the shops were open for business. But the shopping mall was really big and it was non air-con. We also went to the arcade to play some of the games, and one token just cost $0.50 yuan.

We went back at around 5pm and we took the wrong bus, and we reach the bus terminal. We were surprised when the driver told us we reached the bus terminal already and so we got no choice but to take a cab back to the hostel. We chilled at the hostel until 8 plus when we had to go to our trip leaders’ room for briefing before going to bed. Overall, I felt that the second day was surprising.

day 1 - wednesday

Early in the morning, I had to wake up at 4am because my flight was at 8am. After preparing to leave the house, my parents and I had to wait for a cab to travel to the airport. Upon reaching the airport, I began to gather with our trip group for our flight. After that, I bid farewell to my parents and my auntie, I boarded the plane and wait patiently for the plane to take off.

The food provided by the airline was not delicious at all, which made my trip on the plane uncomfortable. Upon reaching Guangzhou, I had to wait at the airport for my next transit flight to Wuhan. At around 3pm, I boarded the plane to Wuhan, which just took around an hour to reach. When we reach the airport, I felt cold at once, heard that the temperature there was 6 degree Celsius. Once I step out of the airport, even when I speak, there was also a breath of fog coming out of my mouth. It felt cool at first, but after a while, my lips felt very dry but still it was very cool.

We reached Wuhan Science & Technology University Zhong Nan Branch in about an hour time. After that we reach the hostel, it felt very cold in the dormitory and room, and the heater was not turned on too. After that we went to Canteen 2 to have our dinner, I ate rice with fish meat. Was not delicious at all and it was salty and oily, the worst part was not over yet, one bite of the fish and there was a lot of fish bones. After that we went back to our hostel to sleep. Overall, I think that it is going to be a whole new experience for me and the first day was fun.
